The first semester of graduate school saw a return to focus on Europe. This time in Athens, specifically an intellectual and politically anarchistic center: Exarcheia. Here, within the chaos of the street, many types of people interact in a space whose ownership is contested. Again through speculation, as well as through an anthropological lens, the changing of Athens’ building code facing both the skyline and the streets’ arcades, spaces where this friction exists can be better examined and explained.
